Mini Excavators
YHONG mini excavators give contractors, rental fleets and landscapers a compact digging platform that fits through gates, works close to walls and travels easily between jobs. The range spans micro models for delicate utility work through to larger compact units for trenching, drainage and site preparation, with attachment options to extend each machine across the year.

Overview
On a compact excavator, the details that decide whether a machine earns its keep are the hydraulic system, the undercarriage and the tail swing. Proportional auxiliary hydraulics let an operator feather a breaker, auger or grab rather than treating every attachment as on or off. A tracked undercarriage spreads load on soft ground and keeps the machine stable while digging over the side. Zero-tail or reduced-tail designs allow the upper structure to slew within the footprint of the tracks, which matters when working in lanes, courtyards and alongside foundations. Transport weight and tie-down points determine how easily the machine moves between sites on a trailer.
These machines suit utility contractors, landscapers, rental yards and builders who need productive digging without the transport and access constraints of a larger machine. Common work includes trenching for services, footing excavation, drainage, pool and patio preparation, and light demolition.

03 / Engineering
What every machine shares.
Zero and reduced tail swing
Upper structures are configured to slew within or close to the track footprint, so the machine can work beside walls, fences and traffic without closing the lane.
Proportional auxiliary hydraulics
Auxiliary circuits deliver controlled flow for breakers, augers, grabs and tilt buckets, letting the operator match attachment speed to the task.
Track and canopy configurations
Rubber or steel tracks and canopy or cab layouts let buyers match surface damage, traction and weather protection to the work.
Transport-friendly layout
Lifting points, tie-downs and a compact footprint simplify loading onto a trailer or moving the machine between jobs.
04 / FAQ
Mini Excavators: common questions
What can a mini excavator do that a backhoe loader cannot?
A mini excavator passes through narrow gates and doorways, works close to walls and services, and disturbs less ground. It is easier to transport and better suited to confined residential and utility work, though it loads trucks more slowly than a backhoe.
Should I choose a canopy or a cab?
A canopy suits low-clearance sites, warm climates and short shifts, and keeps transport height down. A cab gives weather protection and operator comfort for long shifts or cold, wet seasons. Check access height and site clearance before deciding.
Which attachments should a rental fleet stock?
Start with digging, grading and trenching buckets, then add a breaker, auger and grab based on local demand. Confirm that each attachment's flow and pressure requirement matches the machines in the fleet so tools can move between units.
How is a mini excavator transported between sites?
Most models travel on a plant trailer or a flatbed truck. Match the trailer rating to the machine weight plus attachment, use the designated lifting and tie-down points, and check ramp angle and trailer width before loading.
